Developing Your Personal Story of Mental Health Recovery
Tuesday, May 6, 2014 10:00:00 AM PDT - 11:00:00 AM PDT
In a world that bombards us with advertisements, we must compete for attention and engagement. While stigma and discrimination reduction programs do not sell products per se, messages are delivered in hopes of attaining behavior changes resulting in community improvement and social justice. To support evidence-based practices among stigma change programs, the Center for Dignity, Recovery and Empowerment has developed resources and technical assistance services to support successful attitudinal and behavior change. The bulk of the webinar focuses on critiquing and developing strong in-person delivered and tailored stories with video examples from the Speakers Bureau SOLVE (Sharing Our Lives, Voices and Experiences) from the Center’s parent organization Mental Health Association of San Francisco. This webinar highlights available technical assistance resources including California Quality Improvement and Fidelity Assessment and Implementation Rating scale, Platform Skills Fidelity Measure, and outcomes assessment tools. The Center provides free technical assistance to California-based stigma reduction programs to encourage delivery of evidence-based practices and to achieve sustainable behavior change benefiting the lives of people with mental health conditions.
