Sustaining Your Business Webinar Series Learn best practices in your industry that will help you comply with environmental requirements and save money. The Environmental Management Assistance Program (EMAP) of the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) presents a series of webinars that will focus on how small businesses in specific industries can address environmental issues, become more sustainable and grow their profits. Webinar #1: Sustaining Your Business: Craft Breweries Please join us Thursday, December 8th at 1:00 p.m. Eastern for a free webinar hosted by the Environmental Management Assistance Program (EMAP) of the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (SBDC). Craft breweries are on the rise in Pennsylvania and across the country! One key to their sustainability and success is learning how to operate them in a way that will save money while reducing their environmental footprint. Join the Environmental Management Assistance Program (EMAP) for a free webinar on how craft breweries can still make great tasting beer while helping out the environment, the community and their bottom line. Topics covered will include ways to increase the efficiency of solid waste, water & wastewater, and energy usage, how to setup a bench-marking system to measure environmental performance and reach realistic targets, and resources available to both breweries in planning and recently established small businesses. We are especially excited to have Cheri Chastain, Sustainability Manager for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., join us to offer a first-hand narrative on projects Sierra Nevada has implemented to demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainable brewing practices since they began operations in 1979. Jeremy Hancher, EMAP environmental consultant, will provide attendees with small business resources and things every brewery can do to implement sound environmental practices as both a startup and existing craft brewery.
