Kentucky Gets Students on TRACK with Youth Apprenticeship
Wednesday, August 31, 2016 1:00:00 PM CDT - 2:00:00 PM CDT
You’re invited to join the Appalachia Regional Comprehensive Center (ARCC) on Wednesday, August 31 from 2-3 p.m. to explore how Kentucky gets students on TRACK with youth apprenticeship. Kentucky’s Tech Ready Apprentices for Careers in Kentucky (TRACK) youth pre-apprenticeship program is a partnership between the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technical Education and the Kentucky Labor Cabinet to provide secondary students with career pathway opportunities into Registered Apprenticeship Programs. This free webinar will include a discussion of registered apprenticeship and pipeline needs and issues from employer and student perspectives, as well as outcomes and lessons learned. The webinar will also highlight Stober Drives, a successful example of the youth pre-apprenticeship program. Presenters will include Laura Arnold, Kentucky Career and Technical Education Director; Mary Taylor, TRACK Coordinator; Mike Donta, Kentucky Supervisor of Apprenticeship; and Kay Moss, Stober Drives Human Resource Director. This webinar will be co-hosted with Advance CTE.
