Join Jason Webb, Community & Capacity Building Specialist at Grounded Solutions Network, Kim Thompson, Executive Director for Community Land Trust Association of West Marin (CLAM), and Lisa Schwartz, Senior Planning Specialist for Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs for Part II of the Preserving Affordable Homeownership Opportunities series. The presenters will share information on how to create and preserve inclusive communities by establishing community land trusts, and discuss trends and best practices learned from programs on the ground. They will also define and discuss inclusionary housing policies—how they leverage market forces, how they can be structured and what they can do. Attendees will have the opportunity to consider their own local contexts, engage in discussion, and learn more about how to apply the strategies highlighted by the guest presenters.

Jason Webb
Prior to serving as Capacity Building Specialist at Grounded Solutions Network, Jason was Community & Capacity Building Associate at the National Community Land Trust Network. Before that, Jason worked for 15 years for Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI) and Network Member Dudley Neighbors Inc. (DNI). Prior to serving as Director of Capacity Building at Grounded Solutions Network, Beth was the Community & Capacity Building Manager at the National Community Land Trust Network. Beth has also worked as both an urban planner with GCR, Inc. and a Community Development Finance Fellow with Providence Community Housing, a local nonprofit specializing in affordable housing development. Prior to serving as Director of Capacity Building at Grounded Solutions Network, Beth was the Community & Capacity Building Manager at the National Community Land Trust Network. Kim Thompson has served as the director of the Community Land Trust Association of West Marin (CLAM) for six years, leading acquisition and community building efforts in the rural, coastal area of Marin County – one of the highest cost and most highly regulated landscapes in the country. Lisa Schwartz Lisa Schwartz is a Senior Planning Specialist in the Montgomery County, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Affairs, and has worked with the County’s MPDU Program since 2007. Lisa holds an A.B. from Trinity College in Connecticut, and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) from George Washington University.
